Content is good, but book is low quality - very thin paper, slightly better than a magazine. Definitely wouldn't pay full price for this book as they've clearly lowered the quality commensurate with the lower price.
Perfect for teaching elementary students about our government and voting.
This is better than most other children's books on voting, but it still gets a huge point wrong.Page 10 reports that "...When the colonies became the United States of America, the people wanted their new country to be a democracy." America. Is. Not. A. Democracy. America is a Republic. Democracy is the usually-violent rule of the majority over the minority. A Republic protects the rights of every individual against the tyranny of the majority.The US Constitution is a brief document, quick to read and fairly easy to understand. We have searchable websites to explain the Federalist papers and the anti-Federalist papers, for further calrification. Moreover, the Internet brings the power of information to everyone, authors included. Please, get it right.Apart from this (admittedly huge) flaw... we like the book. It is appropriate for most ages of students, and the photographs are lively. Some amazing photos of differnt voting technology.
