Love these Moon travel guides.This is our 3rd one. (Fiji, Ireland, Puerto Rico)As a former travel agent, I feel like this books fit my personal travel style over some of the other publications.They cover lots of things, not just high end places to stay and eat.Also, we had a really tough time finding a detailed map while in Puerto Rico and the one's in the book were a great help.Would recommend this boook because of all the help it gave us while in Purto Rico.

We went to Puerto Rico for our honeymoon, and the Moon guide is superb. We chose to spend almost all our time in the jungle, beaches, and mountains, with only 1 day in San Juan. This book told us of things known mostly to locals: a wonderful natural waterslide near Luquillo, that we should eat at the Luquillo Kiosks, how to find the best bioluminescent bay experience, and a roadside stand that sells scrumptious sangria. (Don't miss the jungle zipline, too.) This book took us many places where we found ourselves surrounded by native Puerto Ricans enjoying their beautiful island.If you're planning your own way and won't be spending the entire time on a resort, this book is a great guide.

We just came back from PR yesterday and I must say the book was a wonderful guide during our vacation there. My husband spent much of his childhood in PR and at first he told me the book was unnecessary but he was the one who kept asking me to refer to the book. We spent two weeks in PR but we didn't follow the route written in the book...we went the opposite direction. We did make a complete circle of the Island using this book as our guide. The location of places were exactly as written in the book. We stayed at three different hotels in three different locations that are listed in the book and the phone number, the location and the review about the hotels were dead on. Last time we went to PR for family emergency, we stopped by to eat at a restaurant called La Boca in Salinas but this time we couldn't remember how we got there. We called family and friends and we were driving in circle. I told my husband that in the book most of the restaurants the writer reccomands are on the same road so we took 701 and there was our restaurant....the restaurant is not listed in the book but we love the seafood there. I wish I was eating the crab mofongo and a whole red snapper as we watch the fish swiming in the water. The information about getting to the port early to catch a ferry to Culebra island was true because it was sold out by the time we got there at 8am on Saturday. Better luck next time.

This helped us a lot for planning our trip and we carried it with us as well. Good advice on all fronts. We did notice that other people had the same book so it isn't just us using this one.

This book turned out to be quite an asset in Puerto Rico. It gave great recommendations for restaurants and sites. It is especially helpful if you do not stay in San Juan. It covers the whole island. I only gave 4 stars because some of the info was outdated and a few things were understated in our area. By the time we realized this, it was too late to take advantage of them.

We found his helpful in choosing places to visit in Puerto Rico. There is so much to do and see -- more than can be done in a single weeklong visit. We will be back!

this is not an ideal guide, insuffice info, map , transportation etc...

This book doesn't have quite as much detail as the Rough Guide or Fodors, but for the average traveler, it's pretty darn good. It may not give you all the history or other details of a place but it will tell you enough highlights so that you can make up your mind about what you want to see and it will give you a few suggestions for the best (and best deals) on restaurants and hotels in each place as well. If you're someone who wants to know all the details, go for Rough Guide or Fodors. But if your the average traveler, and especially if you plan to spend most of your days in San Juan or at some other beach and you just want enough info to take a few day trips, the Moon book will be likely become your favorite.

The main character has dealt with a lot of tragedy, and is lost in her grief. More drama propels her to find her own meaning in life. It was an enjoyable journey to watch her grow. Lots of intrigue and suspense--including the romance.Very enjoyable. A great escape!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I donâ€™t particularly like this author, but gave this a shot. It was a good story with a good surprise ending. A little muddled at times, but overall enjoyed very much.

I loved taking the wild ride and journey with CJ. Lots of twists, humor, and always my favorite - romance. YUM!

A very interesting novel with twists and turns and an ending I didn't see coming. Michaels always keeps me interested from the first page to the last. Don't miss this one!

I enjoyed it tremendously. Loved the surprise ending. Wedding not a surprise but everyone loves a happy ending. Good job.

CJ's had a lot of tragedy in her life- her parents, her brother, and now her boss all died too soon. Her boss, Congressman Snapper Lewis, didn't really commit suicide, did he? CJ pokes around but then realizes that she's gotten too close to an uncomfortable truth. So, perhaps wisely, perhaps not, she takes off and moves to a small coastal town. Small towns are good places to hide, until they aren't. This is romantic suspense so keep your eye on her love interest- a charter boat captain. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is popcorn reading: you might guess the end and you might not but it's a fun time.

I like Fern Michael's as an author. But I also find that I either love the books that she has written or they fall in the middle for me. What I mean is that while I don't hate them they are just okay. That's where this one fell for me. Even though CJ was a good enough main character and her deceased brother's long- time lover Colin was good also. They had each others backs even after her brother "Kick" died. Colin is there for her once again as she pulls him into the mystery that SHE gets pulled into.There was plenty of mystery, action and danger to the story. But sad to say it just really didn't grab me. Even with the twists and turns I still wish I had liked it more.It has a good Epilogue with one more unexpected twist in that part as well.I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I don't know how anyone could give this book less than 5 stars. This book is amazing. I have yet to get through the whole book, I start crying nearly every time I crack it open. It captures so much. The biggest thing I took away from this book is that life is so short and fragile and we need to hold onto our memories for dear life and not let go. It takes me back to being a kid and being annoyed when my parents took pictures and made us pose. This book captures all of that. It is worth every penny. I plan to give this book to several people as a gift. Looking at this book is truly a gift. I have loved every page I have read so far. Truly amazing.

It arrived by the due date. I bought a book for my son and one for myself. We both absolutely love the book. It is so amazing and beautiful and has made us look through photographs and see if we can do a dear photograph or two ourselves. Thank y'all so much. I would highly recommend this book to everyone I know. I may buy some more copies and give them for birthday or Christmas gifts.

I give this book one star because it fails to cover and it admits in its introduction that it intentionally fails to cover the instrumentalist interpretation, commonly known as the "Copenhagen Interpretation", of physics which is the interpretation of it given by many of the founders of quantum theory (this book does not get into general relativity theory and its problems) and the only one that explains the evolution of science including physics into its present state and technique as data science. Thus it continues the present modern need of all philosophy both analytic and continental to turn philosophy into religion (for the latter they seem do so to justify social engineering, the former analytic school seems only to need secular religion to give meaning to their lives and academic tenure for their careers, otherwise they seem to accept the dogma of the continental school ). It rationalizes its exclusion of instrumentalist interpretation because it dogmatically states that a physical theory must answer the question: "what there is and what it does" or give "ontology" and "dynamics". In the present world in which even for physics, data science and correlation without explanation are taking over all theory including physics, for a supposed philosopher of physics to demand an "ontology" from a science is outright delusion. Ontology is a branch of philosophy not science. This book is not written as an ontology book, it assumes that ontology must come from physics which is not a philosophy of physics but a physics of philosophy. It is one thing to argue that ontology must be naturalized to science; it is another to assume that science must have an ontology for you or to satisfy your need for one. If you want to read and have some understanding of what are essentially metaphysical theories that hide as physical theories such as the logicians', mystics', and science fiction writers' beloved "Many World" theory, this book deserves 5 stars. Otherwise, if you want a real understanding or philosophy of physics as it is and not as it should be in order to satisfy a religious need for physics to explain life for you, I suggest you go old school and read something by the late Norwood Russell Hanson.

This book, along with its companion volume on Space and Time, offers an approachable yet rigorous introduction to a very difficult area of philosophy. Three aspects of the book are especially deserving of praise:(1) In most books on the philosophy of quantum mechanics, a distinct is made between "realist" interpretations of quantum theory and "anti-realist", "instrumentalist", (or whatever) interpretations. This is often deeply misleading to an incoming student of philosophy of physics. Take, for instance, realism vs antirealism about electromagnetic theory. A realist takes the general sort of attitude that the things described by electromagnetic theory really do exist. For example, that there really are electric/magnetic fields occupying space, that they really do interact with charged objects, etc. On the other hand, an antirealist takes the general sort of attitude that the things described by the theory do not really exist. Maybe electric/magnetic fields don't actually exist as independent objects occupying space and time, but are rather just a convenient shorthand for describing the changes in motion of certain kinds of objects (those with "charge") over time. The realist and the antirealist agree on the content of the theory -- that there are fields occupying space with such-and-such properties, but they disagree on whether or not the theory actually picks out something possessing unique existence in the world (this is glossing over the varieties of realism, but you get the idea). The situation with respect to quantum theory is totally different, as Maudlin makes clear. With respect to quantum theory, we aren't even sure what the theory is saying. In other words, we don't know what to be realists or antirealists about. Once we've settled on an interpretation -- say, Bohmian mechanics -- then we could be realists (e.g., the guiding equation describes an actually existing field that pushes around our particles) or antirealists (e.g., the guiding equation is a way of specifying possible trajectories but does not describe an entity in itself). Until then, we're just trying to figure out what (if anything) quantum theory says about the world.(2) The chapter on the "quantum recipe" (the formal machinery of quantum theory and how it is used to generate predictions) is very approachable and lays a strong foundation for further study of quantum systems. Though it's light on math, it's heavy on conceptual clarity.(3) Maudlin's argument are nearly always made premise-for-premise explicit. He isn't trying to tell you what to think or make a massive survey of the contemporary literature, but rather is guiding you through a specific line of argumentation or thought. This is great training for thinking about quantum theory on your own.Strongly recommended, alongside David Albert's "Quantum Mechanics and Experience" and Travis Norsen's "Foundations of Quantum Mechanics".
