A must read for all those who really don't understand what challenges our country faces with the regime of Iran and how their absolute control and terror towards their own citizens and in particularly women and children, have destroyed lives in Iran and they desire to do the same to other countries, including the USA. These extraordinary women faced death and torture and unspeakable conditions in prison for being Christians. More importantly for others to understand, if this ideology is allowed to advance and perpetuate throughout the Muslim world, we will certainly have more problems than we currently face. This book is not anti-Muslim, it shows how twisted and evil some extreme power brokers in many Muslim countries have abused their power and brainwashed their citizens while torturing them for their conversions or for not following the extreme teachings of the religious leaders. People in this country who feel they have much to protest, much to demand about women's, children and human rights, and much to desire of their political and religious leaders should read this book and give thanks for living in the United States of America.

I am listening to the book a second time and almost done with it. I would like you to tell these ladies that this book has dramatically affected me and my spiritual connection with Jesus. I have been changed by these two ladies, and I owe them my gratitude as well as the staff of people that made the book publishing possible. Perhaps, what affected me most was the continual boldness and dedication. I know that the Holy Spirit was leading them which gave them boldness and guided and protected them. I am praying that the I allow the Holy Spirit to use me and give me the boldness and courage as it did them. It also affected my sincerity of purpose and purity of thought. I want to be ready for Jesus to return as well as being uplifting, pure, bold, thoughtful, kind, and used by God just like these two. Thank you and thank you.

We hoped they now had their freedom, that we had been faithful witnesses to them, and that they would continue to listen for the spirit of Christ moving in their hearts. Then we started thinking about the women who would be locked up there after we were gone. How could we reach out to them? There were damp places on the walls where little chunks of plaster had fallen off. Using these pieces of plaster as chalk, we wrote Bible verses and Christian messages all over the walls, and on the ceilings where prisoners could read them as they fell asleep. We prayed aloud and sang songs until late in the night. All alone in an underground prison cell, we shared a joyous celebration of faith."

Superb, well written book. These girls went through hell in one of the world's most demonic prisons in one of the most demonic lands. Imprisoned, not for something that could be considered a crime (being Christian) in the western world, but only in the uncivilized dark corners of Iran. The world needs to clamp down on patriarchal societies that place females as second-class citizens and thrust them out of our civilized world. It is great to have Ms. Maryam Rostampour and Ms. Marziyeh Amirizadeh in America where they are free and independent and enjoying their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. We all pray for Ms. Shirin Alam Hooli, their dear friend, who wasn't as fortunate and was executed by the barbarians of Iran's brutal Evin Prison. Together, we all must work to bring change and awareness to this demonic culture.

This true story is one of encouragement and reveals the faithfulness of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. In this ever changing world where people are lost and feel empty, where Christians sometimes are silent about the power of the Gospel, this book reveals that "in our weakness, God is made strong" and that Jesus is glorified through the faithful witness of His saints. This book was an encouragement to me as a Christian to be bold about sharing the Truth of the Savior with others, in love. Jesus tells us that He will never leave us or forsake us. We are never alone and don't need to be afraid no matter where we are or whatever our circumstances are. Other prisoners were drawn to these young ladies because they had a different spirit and cared for and loved everyone. Anyone would benefit from reading this book.

This is a modern day version of Cori Ten Boom in The Hiding Place. I have always liked true books about Christians and their experiences. This one has got to be one of the most well-written books with details enough that the reader can picture it as if they were there.Though these girls were set free and moved to the USA, that doesn't mean they have it easy now. There is a lot of thoughtless discrimination against people from those countries and most of the time, we don't have the slightest clue how much suffering or what conditions by which they came from.This is an awesome account of faith. Faith is the substantiation of things hoped for.
