This is a very light weight book, both page count and intellectual content. It is full of repetitive factoids, "white space", and typographic errors. I've seen many high school level term papers that are more thorough on their topics. This is a paper or pamphlet disguised as a book.By the way, mescaline is a phenethylamine, not an amphetamine!!! Trichocereus is not a valid genus. The San Pedro cactus and the Peruvian torch cactus both belong to the genus Echinopsis.
This book has so much valuable information on Peyote. I've been researching a lot about it, but most of the information out there is very back and forth. I've really gotten clear answers that I've had about Peyote from this book. It's very unbiased and gives you both pros and cons to Peyote and the side effects of it. Overall, it was a fairly quick read and really gets straight down to the key information which I enjoyed. Perfect book if you're wanting to learn more!
Could have been more in depth, lots of blank space, though does provide a basic understanding of the plant and its uses

This reads like a high school essay except that it contains no citations for the sources it’s plagiarizing. It is replete with grammatical and factual errors such as referring to mescaline as an amphetamine (later correctly calls it a phenethylamine) and goes on and on about HPPV which is actually HPPD by their own description. There’s a whole section on irrelevant cactus species. I gave it two stars because it does manage to touch on most of the relevant subject matter surrounding this species but it generally does a terrible job of conveying the information.
Not objective actually quite ethnocentric, claiming there are a lot of none natives using sacrament for parties, plus factually inaccurate mescaline not being an amphetamine at all, I have met and heard many Native American(south and north) claim that sacrament is all about intention and ritual not race, don't believe what these authors say they read too much and prayed too little:(

I thought the book was written very well and easy to understand. Peyotes are fascinating, and if you're ever wondering what you can do with the little cactus, this book would give you some great information. This thing has some gnarly powers, to say the least...
I had always been curious about Peyote but had never really been able to find something with legitimate information on the subject, seeing as most articles are written with everyone's own views and opinions rather than straight up facts. This book was just what I was looking for, and I was especially pleased to find the author giving unbiased facts and back history about it rather than personal opinions. Educational and quite an interesting read!

I love this book and use it all the time. The strawberries & cream pop is a favorite, and I am newly obsessed with the watermelon & cucumber popsicle. The recipes are creative, with unexpected (and unexpectedly delicious) flavor combinations. While a few of the recipes use ingredients that are a little unconventional, the recipes usually don't use too many ingredients, and they're usually pretty easy and fairly quick to make. Just about every recipe I've made from here has been fantastic.
I love this book! I love how it's not just recipes, but has instructions from picking your ingredients to how to start your own business. Not that I want to start one even though it could be a year round business for Texas. I just love that they are so open and honest from start to finish. The first recipe I tried was the Balsamic and strawberry pops. I was hesitant at first because the kids were looking forward to their first set. I didn't want to disappoint them if they didn't like our first batch. I went for it anyway because I love cooking with Balsamic. I did not need to worry. They are amazing! My son ran around the kitchen screaming, "Oh my gosh! These are so freaking good!". Over and over again until he was upstairs yelling it in his Dad's face. It was adorable, and we'll deserved. Simply amazing. I'm looking forward to using lots of these at my dinner parties.
I love this book, it is a must have. Recipes are so simple and easy to do. Love how they walk you through everything. I've been making popsicles and taking them to work and they are a big hit! Highly recommend this book as your go to for popsicles!

I have given this recipe book to everyone I’ve needed a gift for ever since I first tasted a pop made from one of its recipes. The book is full of unique flavor combinations and interesting anecdotes about the friends who opened the shop behind these recipes. I am going to have to find a new gift idea because of how many of my friends now own (and love) this book. The recipe for raspberry and basil infused simple syrup pops is one of my favorites but my all time favorite from this book is salted caramel and apricot pops. Whenever I have offered one of these pops to people they’re always blown away by how intense and fresh the pops taste. I’ve never had someone not enjoy a pop made from one of these recipes, they’re that good!
This is a great book to use as a starting point in finding out what flavor profiles you're into. So far, we've made the strawberry and cream (OMG good), plum, yogurt, and tarragon, cantaloupe and tarragon, and roasted yellow peach. Looking forward to trying out the other recipes to see how they turn out. Thanks Nathalie and David, and Joel for creating this outstanding book! :)

She loves the strawberry cream ones. My personal favorite is Raspberry Basil Pops. The Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream taste exactly like the real thing! Everyone is always surprised that they taste like pie! They're very easy to make...I have bought on amazon lots of styles of pop sicle molds so that we can tell the booze pops from the kiddie ones. Very well written and YUMMY!!!!!
This book is cute and most of the recipes are solid. Some of them require ingredients I'd never buy but for the most part they're accessible and simple.The roasted peach popsicles were my favorite, so good.
